When we return from family vacation, we all get excited about coming home to the "4 corners." Everyone find your space and ignore each other for a bit. Winter up north--so much togetherness! :o)
My go to Oatmeal cookies recipe is...drumroll...the recipe on the back of the Craisins package. Hold the Craisins. Add chocolate chips. It's a soft cookie. But so so so good. Now I'm thinking of making some today.
Love the 4 corners concept! Everyone RETREAT! I’ll definitely check out the Craisins recipe, and will definitely hold the Craisins and double up on the chocolate ☺️
As we were physically moving my daughter 17 hours away, she gave me full permission to redo her room as she was ready for a change there too. It took me a while to actually do it, but it is my favorite room in the house now!
Same here. It also made me even more desperate about our incoming administration and how much worse things will get south of the US border. No American president has done immigration humanely, but I fear the next four years will be the absolute worst yet 😔
This post has so many goodies Katy! I'm going to check out the used book subscription, that sounds like something that could fit in with my mission to read more under the radar backlist this year. And the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are going on my must make list this week
Katy, The Story of Arthur Truluv (2017) is a more recent Elizabeth Berg title. I don’t recall who recommended to me but I have it in my TBR pile. Most likely will move it up now that I’ve heard more from you.
I found Soldiers and Kings so impactful and important. I'm glad it received the NBA. I read it shortly after reading Everyone Who is Gone is Here and found the books to be an exceptional pairing.
I have audible credits but no longer subscribe. I’m interested in the used book one!
I’ll keep sharing the titles I get!

I have the exact same perspective about Elizabeth Berg. I think it's because we read a lot of her books before we started documenting on Goodreads.
I will definitely be reaching into her backlist to catch some of her more recent titles I know I missed ☺️
I see that I gave Open House one star, but I don't remember much about it. I think Say When was really good.

That was so sweet of your daughter! We’re not quite there yet, but I’m still happy for a quiet place to retreat to.
This sounds like it’s been a cozy start to the new year! 🤍
I loved Soldiers and Kings. It made me ache for the author and for the people he shares with us. What a fabulous book.

Yay, so happy you found things to connect with, Renee! Happy baking 💕

This is one that I had on my TBR as well! I'm interested to hear what you think of it if you get there first :-)

I’m so glad to hear that, Stephanie! Everyone Who Is Gone Is Here is on my “very soon” TBR
