Links of Interest
I don’t know how to define this newsletter, but I loved Jess’ book and am absolutely adoring her short form writing as well.
Jo Piazza has revived her Under the Influence podcast and I am LOVING it!
Speaking of podcasts, I am getting to be informed and outraged about billionaires (know thy enemies, I guess?) on the regular with one of my new favorite shows Good Bad Billionaire. Show description: Simon Jack and Zing Tsjeng find out how the richest people on the planet made their billions, and then they judge them. Are they good, bad, or just another billionaire?
My favorite fall drink from Starbucks when I have reached my caffeine limit for the day.
Books about Books
I have an entire section of my living room bookshelf dedicated to books about books, and I am always on the hunt for new additions to this collection. When my family made a recent birthday bookstore trip, I didn’t have a specific purchase in mind, but knew I was looking for something different than yet another fiction book to devour and pass on.
I was absolutely ecstatic when I came upon these two titles and am so excited to dig into them. All of my childhood nostalgia in one, and one of my favorite titles and covers of all time in the other!

My Book Discovery Process
When I was at the library recently picking up a huge stack of holds, the library worker gave me one of the greatest compliments ever when she said, “You always request such amazing books!”. I explained to her that I’m not just a casual reader, and since I share about my reading with the wider world, I take it VERY seriously ~ but, that’s only kind of the truth. I would take it this seriously even if it were just for me! It’s my main hobby, and while sharing about it allows me to do even more with it, sourcing amazing books brings me such joy.
Joy like creating this flowchart detailing how my book discovery process works!
I shall not tell you how long this flowchart took me to create on Canva, but I WILL tell you that it was extremely satisfying and the Quick Flow feature is now my favorite thing EVER. If you like charts, I can’t recommend this feature enough!
