Hello readers! Today I am sharing my word of the year for 2025, and sharing my surprising year-end reading. Grab a cuppa and join me in closing out 2024!
Psssst …. I have a special gift for you coming out TOMORROW!!! WHAT?!? ON A WEDNESDAY? Yes, a gift for my nerdiest, data-loving, spreadsheet-geek book obsessives. In your inbox on January 1!
I’m so happy that the last day of the year fell on newsletter day ~ what a perfect way to close out 2024. However, I am perhaps the only bookish creator who hasn’t shared a best of 2024 list, or a list of reflections, or a list of goals yet?
I think I’m just a little bit feisty about the fact that the year doesn’t end until TODAY, and I very much did not want to rush the exit of the year by reflecting before it was over. I have several pieces coming out on Tuesdays in January that will catch you up, though ~ my most memorable books of the year, lots of reading data, my (loose) 2025 reading goals and projects, and some other reflection(ish) content.
I wanted to slow down this year, and waiting until the very end to begin compiling my reflections is a major accomplishment for me.
While you have to wait a bit for my looking back, one thing I AM sharing now is my word of the year for 2025! You can see my word of the year for 2023 and my word for 2024 here on Substack.
I really do enjoy this process of choosing a focus word, and this is my third year of letting a word just come to me and instantly knowing it felt right. While 2023 and 2024 were years of seeking and hoping for change, 2025 … isn’t.
