Hello readers! It’s time for another monthly release newsletter ~ yay! I may not have read ahead into December, but I have a great list of books I’m excited about. Remember that the Saturday edition of this publication is always available for all readers ~ I am so happy you have welcomed me into your inbox ♡
I am currently reading an absolutely fabulous nonfiction book about winter mindset (more on that soon!) and love the author’s suggestion of calling what’s going on right now in Wisconsin fall-winter. The period after the clocks change, but before snow sticks, can be dark, wet, cold, and raw, but my oldest and I have managed to get out for amazing hikes both of the past two Saturdays. Cool enough to not sweat, and blessedly no bugs, but warm enough to not need full winter gear ~ and a major bonus of almost no one else being out on the trails!
And my new hiking boots that I couldn’t NOT get after multiple trusted people told me that my newly-high-maintenance feet and calves required them? Absolute perfection. No notes.1
It’s also a fall-winter season of reading for me ~ while I’m reading my final book on my autumn priority TBR, I am also listening to one of my most-anticipated Christmas releases. A wonderful balance as the seasons tip toward winter-winter and the holiday season begins.
And more seasonal beverages for your sipping pleasure …
And a delightful hour of sewing last Sunday …
A well-needed rest: Just a heads-up that I plan to take next week off from the newsletter for my first November holiday travel in over a decade ~ I’ll be back in your inboxes on Tuesday, December 3rd2 ♡ I hope you are all able to get some cozy reading time in next week!
Would you like even more chatty musings on midlife, even more book recommendations, and exclusive downloads and book collections delivered right to your inbox each week? These are all benefits of a paid subscription to this newsletter ~ please do consider becoming a supporter!
December 2024 Releases on My Radar
Although I haven’t been reading ahead like I used to, I adore paying attention to what books are releasing in the near and far future, and spend hours digging to find titles I can get excited about. To share my excitement, and organize the titles for myself, I created a collection on Bookshop.org3 of all of the releases that I have on my radar for this month. Please head on over!
December is always a slow publishing month, and I’m always personally focusing on reading and listening to cozy holiday reads this month, but I still found a number new releases I plan to dig into in the future. I’m such a visual shopper when it comes to books and I wanted to provide you with an easy (pretty) way to see all the covers AND be able to click through for descriptions and release dates. Enjoy!
Please note that this collection is not an inclusive list of all December 2024 releases ~ it just includes the titles that I actually want to read and will seek copies of in the future. Also, I did NOT include any of the Christmas-themed books releasing this month that I am excited about ~ those will be shared on December 3rd in an exclusive collection for paid supporters.
→ Remember that if you are not in a position to purchase any of these books, you can request that your public library purchase them! Often the person who requests the purchase gets to be the first to read when they arrive ☺
Have you read any of these books? Have any of them on your TBR? Let me know!
Don’t forget ~ most of my anticipated November reads are available now!
That’s all for this week ~ thanks for reading!
I love to hear from readers, so please do reach out to me with questions or feedback at mindfullibrarian@substack.com . If we aren’t already connected on Goodreads, I would love to see you there as well!
Well, I do have POSITIVE notes! Incredibly lightweight. Can’t feel them on my feet. Wide toe box for natural foot spread. I can feel the ground under my feet and also have ankle support. Waterproof. Warm. True to size with these socks.
Unless I have time and really want to write before then - you never know!
If you purchase a book from my Bookshop.org collection, I will earn a tiny commission. I shall not become rich from you shopping from my collection, but I merely used the platform to create an easy way for you to see and learn about all the titles in one visually appealing place that supports independent bookstores ☺
Love the pic and the tea recs (I picked up the "Republic of Teas" version).
Is it "How to Winter?" I just picked it up from the library! :o) Although I will be fake wintering here in Texas.
Have a great trip!
I’m looking forward to Private Rites and Rental House next month! And have been seeing Pick Up around recently so I’m curious about that one. I hope you have safe travels for the holiday!
